Abstract:

In the context of building inflationary models in string theory, I will start with a very brief and limited overview of the various classes of models developed in the LARGE volume scenario framework, which has been considered to be the most promising one for almost a decade. Subsequently, along with the recent developments in the light of BICEP2 claims, I would discuss the status of LVS models. The two most important stringy parameters relevant for realistic model building are "alpha^\prime" and "gs " or in other words, "compactification volume" and "string coupling". In the end of the talk, in a quite model independent approach, I would talk about how the two aforesaid stringy parameters could be significantly constrained in terms of experimental bounds on the cosmological observables such as amplitude of scalar power spectrum and the tensor-to-scalar ratio, r.
