Seminario Effective field theory for quantum gravity

Abstract: In this talk I will discuss the use of effective field theory methods in quantum gravity. I will give a short review on the effective action of quantum gravity, and discuss its model independent predictions. I will then discuss some of these predictions related to black holes in more detail and pay particular attention to issues that arise in this formalism.
