Il Dott. Simone Tibaldi (UNIBO) terrà un seminario dal titolo: Efficient Optimization on neutral atoms Quantum Computers
In this talk we will show the results of a recent experiment in which we solved an intractable combinatorial problem on the quantum computer of the French company PASQAL. Their platform exploits arrays of Rydberg atoms to perform analog computation. Although this technology is leading the run for the next generation of quantum computers, it is still suffering from many sources of errors and low repetition rate. To solve these problems we showed that Bayesian optimization is a reliable classical optimizer that, combined with the quantum circuit, allowed us to find a solution on the real machine.
Simone Tibaldi
Third year Phd student at the University of Bologna interested in hybrid quantum-classical algorithms and machine learning applied to quantum many body systems. He has worked specifically in optimization of hybrid algorithms to run on neutral atom quantum computers and spent 6 months working at the company PASQAL in Paris.
Il seminario avrà un taglio adatto agli studenti. Pertanto si pregano gentilmente le colleghe e colleghi docenti di corsi di magistrale o dottorato di informarli di questo evento.
