Studying Physics and Astronomy

Programmes designed to develop solid competencies, guide career choices, explore interests and nurture passions.

The degree programmes offered by our Department provide a broad and interdisciplinary education.

The fields of study range from particle and matter physics to astrophysics and cosmology, from complex and biological systems to Earth and atmospheric physics, right through to medical applications and research into the history and teaching of physics.

A solid theoretical foundation is complemented by experimental and laboratory work, in close dialogue with contemporary research.

The programme links the major questions of fundamental research to the most innovative applications, in sectors such as space, climate, new materials, advanced computing, artificial intelligence and sustainability.

Build your skills after high school

Bachelor’s degrees generally last three years and provide foundational training, while second cycle/two-year master’s degrees last two years and build on this foundation, allowing students to deepen and specialise their knowledge.Learn about our Bachelor's degrees and second cycle/two-year master's degrees
